Discover Your Inner Power to Thrive. (sm)
YOU have the power to change your life...
no matter what your current circumstances.
Liza has many years of experience assisting families, couples and individuals to heal from relationship problems and create lives they love.
Liza received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Appalachian State University in 1999 and began her private practice at that time. Prior to her graduate school training, Liza worked as a rape crisis counselor, assisting child victims and their non-offending family members through the process of healing from abuse -- including accompanying them to the hospital, the police station, and even to court. She also spent time as a domestic violence counselor and as the Director of Communications for the YWCA in Raleigh, NC.
In the last 9 years, Liza has developed a therapeutic model she calls Power to Thrive (sm) Therapy. This model combines several cutting edge Marriage and Family Therapy theories and encourages clients to explore their past and present circumstances in an empowering way. Through a supportive "coaching" style, Power to Thrive (sm) Therapy allows clients to discover their personal power and move beyond previously perceived limitations.
